If you're in college and on a student loan, the bank may offer you a student credit card. If not, the only way is to fill out an application for one. However, they may be picky if you don't have a job or a good source of income. I'm avoiding one for now as they can be very addictive. You think it's free money, but they will get back in the log run, plus all the interest that adds up.

your bank might be the best place to start. if you do not have a bank, then start off with a checking in order to be able to get at least a secured credit card. from there once you have good enough credit you might have higher chances at getting approved at stores.
