I recently checked my credit, and I had some deliquent medical bills. I am now paying 75 on a month on all the deliquent accounts. I have two questions.

1. Is it true that if I pay them, that it DOESN'T raise my score? My friends are telling me that it doesn't matter anymore, since they are deliquent anyways.

2. Are there any credit cards out that don't charge outrageous start-up fees or deposits? Even if the rate is super-high, and the limit is really low, I would be interested, I just don't want to pay hundreds in fees.

Thanks for your time.

A visitor from Holland was chatting with his American friend and was jokingly explaining about the red, white and blue in the Netherlands flag.

"Our flag symbolizes our taxes," he said. "We get red when we talk about them, white when we get our tax bill, and blue after we pay them."

"That's the same with us," the American said, "only we see stars, too."

I just found out that my husband has more debt than he actually claimed. I quite upset. He said he only had 12K, but actually has about 25K. This debt was incurred prior to us being married. If were we to split up, would I be liable for this?

We brought a second 3 bedroom home in a good neighborhood in San Leandro,CA about 2 yrs ago. After a series of family crisis we decided that our real estate investments just took up more time and money than our family can afford. We have a renter in the property and aren't willing to sell the property without the renter occupying the property; limiting the renovations we can do to prepare the property to sell.

Can anyone help with informaiton on a TRANSFER of ownership? With 2 years of equity in this market; such a slim margin of profit makes selling threw a realtor too pricey and like I mention before we can only do minimal updates. We just want the freedom to spend time with family and travel. We'd be looking for someone to assume or loan and will not consider a transfer that keeps the property in our name. Does anyone know of investment groups in good standing with BBB? Or operating legally capable of handling ownership transfers?

I desperately need career advice, please! I currently have a B.S. in Psychology. I would like to get Master's degree someday, but probably not a Ph.D. I would like to have a job where I can help people and "make a difference", but I'm a bit squeamish and don't really like the idea of seeing blood, vomit, etc. while on the job. Money isn't the most important factor for me, but I would like a job where I can make at least a decent living. Some careers I've considered before include:

1) Speech-language pathologist
2) ESOL, Special Ed, or preschool teacher
3) Occupational therapist
4) Mental health, career, or school counselor
5) School psychologist
6) Industrial/organizational psychologist
7) Environmental scientist
8) Sonographer/ultrasound technician
9) Baby or women's health nurse (maybe...)

Does anyone have any opinions on the above careers? Or, does anyone have any other suggestions for careers? Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it!

I tend to ask about three to four questions. Is this too much? I am usually very interested..so I don't think it would deter the interview. However, sometimes..I feel the interviewer might be rushing you to end the interview. This may happen on phone or in person interviews. Let me know your experiences or opinions. Thanks.
