I would like to sell a second home, and purchase another second home (like-kind purchase), thereby not having to pay capital gains tax. It is possible I may need to sell my primary residence, take the $500,000 exemption for my wife and I, and possibly move into the newly purchased second home, making it our primary residence. Should there be a window of time in between doing this if we have to move and can't afford two homes? Is this legal? Can it happen? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems like most are red, gray, navy blue, etc. Has anyone seen a yellow, pink, lime green, or neon card?

Thought I'd toss a random, fun question out there..

About 2 years ago from today I had a car accident and now I'm being sued for It. I used to work at a place as a driver and the accident did happen while I was on the clock and I was covered by the Companie's insurance. The guy I rear crashed is suing me and the company, but the citation got to me first and I don't know if it also the company I used to work for, got it too. I was 20 years old at the time of the incident so I didn't know what to do so I let the company handle It. I really need advice now because I don't want to pay any money out of my pocket because I don't think I deserve due to the fact that the case is a big theater from the plantiff because he's faking injuries and worse case escenario I will get my insurance to pay for me. Either way I don't know where to start I need a really good advice. I got the 30 day notice citation thingy so I have no time to waste. Thank you for your input and for your time.

I live in Canada, and I was discharged from my bankruptcy december 2005. At the time I filed, I had student loans, and they weren't forgiven, of course. I think they are at about $8000 to $10,000. I have been told I cannot get student loans now for a few years, up to the standard scary *7* And of course, it would help if I planned on paying the ones I have ;) So, I'm kinda screwed, aren't I? Even to get loans to study in a different country? Because to study in a different country, I have to get loans from my country, and not the other country, right? (I'm thinking western europe)

Offered a promotion but not sure if I can afford moving there on this salary because of the high cost of living. I am trying to save some cash and pay off student loans too - can I do this on that salary there. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have about $1500 dollars in I bonds and cash and checks. They told me to get them all together and they will invest in something which will make me more interest. Should I? I am the kind of person who is comfortable without a whole lot of change in my life. I am pretty happy with the I bonds in my safe, but dont wanna be stupid about it all.

The company is set up as a partnership (father and son). Father does not draw any income from the business. Son is active "employee" general manager with an income. He has personal health insurance. The company will continue to pay his salary even if he is injured. Should he be considered in the Workers Comp policy?
