I need to move in about 6 months, but my current mortgage has a nice 5.1% rate. If I sell my current house and buy a new house, I'd be in the 7% range, which means I have to get a smaller house. Is there any options for me to keep this rate somehow? I know there are portable mortgages out there (etrade has one) that let you transfer your mortgage to another house, but I don't have this kind of mortgage. Should I maybe keep this house and rent it out and just rent a place? Any other suggestions?

Here is the situation: I hurt my knee and it became swollen and filled with fluid. I called an orthopedic MD and made an appointment for Fri. @ 2:30pm. I work different shifts every day so there is no way for me to schedule something for a time when I'm not working since I don't know my schedule more than 1 week in advance. I called my work and told them about the appointment so that they would not schedule me after 2pm. I work 40 hrs every week but since I have to leave early on Friday I am only scheduled to work 36.5 hrs. I called HR to find out if I could use sick time to cover the other 3.5 hrs and explained the story to them. They said that there is no real policy on sick time, just that it is "up to the discretion of the manager." I asked the manager of my dept and she said it was ok since I never call in sick. I told the person that does payroll on Sun. about it and she said she wouldn't do it unless the store manager approved it and also that she didn't think that he would.

ya know the ones where you have to collect so many caps to win a prize! The ones that you have to type a code into a computer.

I miss the simple "Buy 1 , get 1 free"

It's all codes, codes, CODES!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate technology these days, it's taking over.. some of it's good. I guess.

Except those stupid soda cap codes. I want my "Buy 1 get 1 free" from the gas station.

I've owned my home for about 4 yrs and bought it with a new furnace/central air and new roof. I have since replaced all the windows, redone my kitchen, painted, added on a deck and put in new flooring (hard wood) in 3 different rooms. Anything else I can do to add value? What do you think all of those improvements are worth?

My husband and I are starting a business building a specific thing for a room in your home. We are just starting and not even sure if it is going to take off. Does he need to be licensed to build, is he considered a contractor? Any idea on how much it cost to becomes licensed, if so?

It seems the price of a stock is pegged to the growth of a company. But is it possible for sustained growth year after year? An example being Starbucks. Won't that company eventually saturate the market and thus no longer be able to grow?
