In the first half of 2006, China's total power consumption reached 1.3 trillion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 12.89 per cent over the same period a year ago. But the country only generated 1.23 trillion kilowatt-hours during the first six months of this year - a shortfall of 700 million kilowatt-hours. According to China Electricity Council Secretary-General Wang Yonggan, power shortages will continue to plague China, but he hopes they will somewhat ease. At the beginning of 2005, twenty-five Chinese provinces suffered power shortages. This had been reduced to nine provinces this past January, and recently the number of provinces suffering power shortages had fallen to four.

we filed for ch 13 last year coz we were behind on our mortgage, we were unable to keep up with ch 13 payments and mortgage, coz we lost our jobs. what do we do? we have equity in the home, enough to pay off all our debts (credit cards, late mortgage payments even car payments). We are afraid that we will get our home foreclosed! I have contacted my bankruptcy lawyer, but he has not responded. What do I do? Please help!

My friend is worried that his ex who has just got a job in Barclays might start looking at his account - I doubt she can do anything with the info but he don't want her having personal details about his finances.

Can Cashiers/customer advisors access bank account transactions/details without having your account number and sort code?

Can they look up your account by just your surname, address and date of birth?

I got an education in paralegal work, but when I graduated I found out that upon looking for work as a newly trained paralegal that I had to have 3-5 years experience, which was impossible. Can't even get a job as a paralegal. When I go on interviews, all they say is "not enough experience." So the training is down the drain. I have worked in offices as a secretary, but now I want to do something that would be interesting and yet pays well too. After looking in the legal field for so long, I would like to get out of the office environment but don't know what to do that pays more than minimum wage.

My husband and I are both 23 years old and we just purchased a home. We have been under pressure from our Insurance Agent and our Mortgage broker to obtain Life Insurance in case something happens to one of us.

We would like to have coverage in case something happens. I know the importance of Life Insurance, as my mom was killed in a car accident when she was only 38. So, we want to be protected, and we want our house to be safe.

We are pretty much clueless when it comes to Insurance policies. I ALREADY LOOKED UP THE INFO ON WIKIPEDIA, SO PLEASE DON'T GIVE ME MORE OF THAT. I want opinions on what the best kind of Life Insurance is for us.

Term (but if it is a 30 year term, does that mean when we are for example 54 and something happens after the 30 years, we aren't covered???) or Permanant (whole life, and others). We didn't like the decreasing term policy our agent showed us. We have gotten 2 quotes for Term Life.

Help us make an informed decision!!! Please!
