I was paid double time rather than regular time on my pay checks. Essentially I was paid double. I intended to report the error however the company noticed it before I reported it. So I was supended from work about two days. I believe this is illegal because in their employee handbook nor in any other document says anything about this. There is no reference to "discrepancies in pay" being illegal, there is no reference to a time line of reporting and there is no reference as to what disciplinary action should be taken if it occurs.

Was their action illegal, what should I do now? Should I get a lawyer involved?

I made a mistake on my income tax return and I'm afraid I'm asking for an audit by filing an amended return. Don't get me wrong, filing the amended return is the right thing to do and I'm going to do it. I'm just afraid I'm going to get the audit smack down for doing it.

I have $31,000 in credit card debt. I have five cards, but the two with the highest balances are 11k @ 29% and 17k @ 25 and 3k @29 %. I have $8000 to pay twoards my cards, but I don't know which card to pay off or to pay down. Does anyone know how to either consolidate all my cards into one loan at a certain rate, without claiming bankrupcy? What would be the best way to go?

They cost more than a penny to make now.
They use up our valuable zinc and copper resources.
It would save lots of time at the cash register to round up or down to the nearest nickel. (I've seen it, in Sydney.)
The only useful purpose I have heard recently for a penny is to measure the wear on your tires. I bet we can come up with a different way to measure that . . .

[And do the basic math, folks - taxes will NOT increase if you round to the nearest nickel, since half gets rounded down, and half up.]

I haven't had much experience in anything. I'm only 18 so the only thing I've pretty much done is fast food and child care. I have been filling out applications lately for different receptionist positions and most places say I need experience or a resume. I don't have either. What should I do??
