My little sister got a piercing on the skin _below_ her lower lip, like a reverse Marilyn Monroe piercing. Anyway, they put a sorta-big round stud in there and the metal circle backing looks as though it's "sinking" into her skin, It's still on the surface of her inner lip, but it appears to be almost level with it, like the skin's opening up and swallowing the backing. Is this part of the healing process or is she having some weird reaction to the foreign material in her mouth?

When she got her belly pierced, the ring was being pushed out to the surface by her skin and she had to remove it. Could the same thing be happening to the piercing on her mouth?

I am breaking out under each nostril down my smile creases, and above my chin but below my lips. Not really breaking out too bad, but redness and dryness! I've always had redness in this area but never this bad! I use Murad acne face wash in the morning and night, I moisturize with a night cream every night. It is so dry in this area, what else can I do?? It seems to be getting worse.

Has any-one used any products containing alpha-hydroxy acid? I have done a bit of research and I understand that it is an ingredient that might give your skin a more youthful appearance. However I find it very confusing to go and try to buy a product containing this ingredient. I don't always understand what the ingredients are on the label and there seems to be such a range of prices. I don't really want to ask at the cosmetic counter if I can avoid it. I know a lot of the sales people work for comission and I'm concerned I'll end up paying a lot more than I need to. Has anybody used a product that you could recommend that is a reasonable price? Also could you please state if you live in the US . I live in Canada, but close to the border so if I can't find it here I can always pop across the line to buy it.

If either of my parents see it im dead! They thought i was just goin out with some girlfriends and instead i brought a guy with aswell and they dont know....so now i have a hicky and if they see it they'll KILL ME! wot shuld i do? I dont necesarily need to get rid of it but how can i hide it!

I cant wear polonecks all the time either coz A) I live in spain and B) im usually flaunting my melons off so they'll DEFINITELY know somethings up!!! HELP ME!!!!

I was on ortho tricyclen lo for 1 month a long time ago, and within that month, my skin was completely blemish free, plus I lost a good 10 pounds!! I read that ortho tricyclen is prescribed to treat acne and is clinically proven to clear up the skin, but when I inquired about ortho lo, I found that it isnt proven to treat acne, yet like I said, it worked for me before... so now I am starting ortho tricyclen to see if it works since it IS prescribed for acne, but Im wondering if I shouldve stuck with the ortho lo... if anyone has any info or experiences they can share, I would be more than happy to read them. Thanx!!

I want to know some methods for treating very dry/cracked feet. I’ve heard of things where people put something on them, then wear socks and a plastic bag over them or something. But if anyone could give for specific details I would appreciate it.

I got my nose pierced two days ago. It's swollen a little bit, but not painful, hardly any discharge. Am cleaning twice a day with q-tip and cleaning solution and soaking in seasalt at night. The stud is quite small, and in the mornings it seems to get "swallowed" up by the mild swelling (there's a small layer of skin around half of it) and I have to push it up to clean, then it stays like that for a while. Is there a danger of getting it embedded? Should I keep pushing it up every morning? I just got it pierced so I don't want to put in another stud just yet. Help! Thanks.

Hey ive been using proactiv solution for about 2.5 months...and i was very happy with it, it makes my skin so soft..but now it has made certain areas of my face (cheeks, forehead mainly) flaky and dry ( feels like i have a facial mask on it when i dont) and it seems like i am getting a lot of little white pimples on my forehead now. Am i doing something wrong? what can i do to prevent/help this? I have to wear more makeup than ever now, and it looks awful and uneven when i do wear make up. help?!?!

i have heard that the piercing can be ripped off. i'm afraid if i wear my harness for top-roping and lead climbing, it could rip my piercing off. is this true?

if i get it done, how long does it take till i can go back climbing?
