I just got some because I am worried about wrinkles, since I am approaching 30. Does it also work for acne or acne spots? I still break out a little bit and am wondering if I can also use it for that purpose. Thanks

I've used retin A (or actually a generic sustitute) for acne for years. Works great! Makes you skin more sensitive to light, though.

If you have got prescription strenght Retin-A then that's excactly what its main purpose is for, i.e. Acne. It's very good for treating acne but you need the prescription strength.

Its good for getting smooth new skin too but at prescription strenght you have to be stoic. At first the skin may become sore and very dry and then will suddenly go into a deep peel and you will look a hundred years old and wonder what you have done.. but once the skin has peeled can take a few days then you have nice shiny fresh baby smooth skin which needs to be handled with kid gloves re using harsh chemicals/soaps etc. Baby oil is good. AND ONCE YOU USE RETIN A IT IS IMPERATIVE TO STAY OUT OF THE SUN AS THIS CAN PROMOTE SKIN CANCER.

It is meant for acne so yes, it will work on the spots, but spot treat only.
Make sure you wear your sunscreen EVERYDAY, and reapply every 6 hours because it makes you very sun sensitive and you can end up with more damage than you started with, including more wrinkles and pigmentation.
Please also make sure you are drinking plenty of water to help your skin heal from the peel. (retin-A is actually stronger than a glycolic / chemical peel.)
Good luck and enjoy. It makes me peel like a snake for about 5 days, but I love the results. Oh yeah... Also don't pick at the skin thats peeling off.... thats the hardest part!

Yes it is also meant for acne but don't go out in the sun for long because it will damage your skin after using Retin A.

Yes, Retin A was initially created to treat acne, so it will definitely help to unclog pores and reduce acne, as well as rejuvenate the skin, speed up skin cell renewal and stimulate collagen and elastin. HTH : )

It is a great drug. I use it for acne, but it also removed my sun damage, lessened some of my age areas. I am also near 30 and I am hooked :) The only thing is it is drying, but as long as you are careful not to overdo it you will be ok
