Hair - January 2007

I have chest length, thick, brown hair. Naturally my hair dries somewhat wavy and frizzy. I've had my hair chemically straightened and I also have to straighten it with a flat iron daily to keep in looking neat. I know my hair is very damaged, but is that the reason my hair has trouble growing out past my chest. Also, what can I do to make my damaged hair healthier?

1.What kind of hair do you have? (straight, curly, way etc)
2. What colour hair did you have (when you used it)? (e.g dark red, dark brown, dark blonde, light red, light brown, light blonde)
3. What brand of sun-in did you get? How much was it?
4. How much did you use?
5. For how long did you use it, what changes could you see. How long did it take for the changes to come?

My scalp is oily. It gets oily a day after I wash my hair. The ends are split , and my scalp has something like dandruff no flakes. Nowadays I am seeing something like fiber, light brown fibers in comb.. any clue what is going wrong..?? To add on to mess I am having a lot of hair fall.Now I am in a fix, I do not know what shampoo might work for me, dandruff/clear clarifying shampoo/shampoo for dry hair?? help!!! I have straight hair and am considering going natural, but I still want to wear my hair straight. I've heard that you can go natural and train it to be worn straight with out it shrinking back so easily. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Obviously hair on your head and beard hair, practically grows forever. But arm and leg hair grows to a certain length and then stops and eventually falls out.

Why is hair different in this way? Why?

I straighten my hair quite a lot and the end of my hair are quite frzzled up. Does anyone know any good hair protection spray, leave in conditoners that will repair my hair. I cant do anything with my hair, its like straw!

I am a man with extremely tight curls. Individual hairs look like corkscrews and are flat rather than round. African hair forms flat spirals, which is not like mine - I know, I had an African flatmate once. I have no African ancestors but this runs in the family. A cousin who has identical hair had hers straightened on a hot humid day and the treatment only lasted a few hours. Neither I, my mother nor two of my cousins have ever had a decent hairstyle because of this and it looks as if it's going into the next generation. Help?

I know I have asked this question before.. but I had a play around in photoshop... let me know what you think.. I would hope my hair would turn out like the way I have made it in photoshop..but who knows..

The story:
I had some bits of my hair dyed a dark purply colour about 6 months ago. Since then it has faded to a nasty orange. I went to my usual hairdresser on friday evening to have my highlights done and asked her if there was a way of getting rid of the orangey bits.. She said she could bleach them with the rest of my hair, but they would go honey rather than platinum. Instead of my usual fine higlights, fo some reason she put bleach on all of my hair in big chunks and turned it a yellowy colour. The bits that were orange are now salmon pink and you can see lines all through my hair where she put the foils. I could have done a better job myself.
Anyway, my hair is fuzzy and dry due to the bleaching and I don't want any more bleach. I have used 3 loads of ash toner to make it look less yellow but it still looks awful.
I think the best thing to do is go brown (my natural colour is a dark blonde) what should I do?

The water in our area is very hard (magnesium content is very high). shampoo and using hair conditioner does not help and the hair become very dry and rough after the wash. I donot use any oil on the hair. Any solution other than using the RO water or bying the mineral water. Otherwise my hair are normal.and they behave nicely when they are washed at somebody else's home

yesterday i attempted to put blonde chunky skreaks in my hair,stupid me done 2 streaks too thick ,it was permenant blonde and i now want to dye it brown as it looks BAD!!! cant afford to go to hair dressers.if i was to go over it brown what would happen?would it go green or something or is it ok to dyr over bleached hair????

i have pimples(sad but true)......i use a mach3 while shaving.....it gives me a close shave but it wreaks havoc if any pimples are present...so i just wait till the pimple's gone....obviously,i look like robinson crusoe very often and i want to change that......i want an electric razor that will give me a relatively close shave n not harm my pimples(don't get me wrong-i hate those very same pimples)....electric razors would be the best but other suggestions will help too....the razor has to be from a reputed company

i dye my hair every 11/2 months burgundy red and i straighten it every morning.
I have alot of split ends but arnt noticable cause i usually get compliments on how shiny and soft it is.
what hair product is good for straightning hair?(no blowdrying products please.)
that causes the least damage?
