answer in order:
1. Curly (don't use it)
2. brunette (don't use it)
3. Don't use it (cost unimportant as it was in 70s that's how long it's been in existence - don't use it)
4. Even a little bit will give you orange hair - don't use it
5. Used it twice never again - Don't use it.
Take some money and have blond highlights professionally done. You won't regret it. But Sun-In - DON'T USE IT.

Let me answer your questions from a different point of view. I am a hairdresser who has delt sun in put in all different types of hair.
Sun in is a very good way to quickly wreck your hair. It usually turns the hair some sort of nasty brassy color. Then you have to come to the salon to get it fixed, except that because Sun in has metallic dyes in it you can't color over the top of it with anything other than a semi permanent color, which may not fix the color and which will not permanently fix the color. You also can't get any other permanent chemical services done on your hair after Sun In or it will break off clean at the re-growth line. Now let me directly answer your questions.
1. I have seen it used in all hair types
2. Dark Red Hair would turn Orange. Dark Brown hair will turn Red Orange, Dark Blonde will turn Ghetto Gold, Light Red will turn...well, get your crayon box out and look at the color yellow-orange, Light Brown will turn Gold, Medium Blonde will turn Lemon Yellow and Light Blonde will be your best color coming out something like Butter Yellow
3. I don't buy it. I just try to fix it so I can't answer this one.
4. People usually tell me they keep squirting it in through out their day in the sun until they see a color change. So however much that would be. Probably more for Dark hair and less for Blondes
5. The changes can happen after one day in the sun. The effects are until every strand of hair touched by the Sun In grows out.
DONT BUY IT!

Used it as a young teenager ,some forty years ago, yeah it's been around that long! I have super straight, heavy blonde hair , did then too, and I used it for a couple of weeks. It turned my hair orange, it was hideous and this was before all the weird colours were popular. And I had shoulder length hair at the time.
My mum finally had me wash my hair in what seemed like vats of lemon juice after I shampoo'd and conditioned my hair to get the stuff out and it was YEARS before I went near any kind of colour or dye or frosting.
My hair now has what I call God's streaks, platinum blonde streaks mixed with my own ashy blonde hair.

Oh my God PLEASE DON"T!!!!!
As a stylist (for a very long time) I've NEVER heard any one say they used sun-in and just loved it.
This stuff fries your hair and doesn't really have enough lifting power to bring it up to a decent shade.
I'm sure somebody somewhere must like it; the stuff has been around forever. But it's not something I would recommend for anybody, ever.
And yeah, I had my own sun-in experience. My hair's light brown, and the best it could do was an orangey blonde.

1. Wavyish, I believe at the time I had pretty straight hair with a slight wave.
2. Light blonde when I used it.
3. The normal kind, don't remember the price.
4. I ended up using the whole bottle over a long period.
5. Used it various summers to get a headstart on my summer highlights, I would use it like once or twice and it would be good.

I had straight hair b4 all my perms, now I have wavy. I hair med-brown hair, then after I made the mistake of using an entire bottle of it, my hair turned a redish-orange.Never again!.
I got the sun-in for blondes.I can't remember how much it was, seeing as it was in 1988. It took what seemed like forever for it to grow out. Frizz and all.

I have straight, long, dark brown hair. "Sun-In" is the brand. I think it costs around $4.00. I used it every day, after my shower, until my hair was the color I wanted. Just blow dry it all the way. It made my hair kind of a golden brown color. I have used it since 10th grade, I am now 39 and still using it.

Straight hair
Medium dark brown
I got the gentle lemon version of sun-in it was like 4 dollars
I used just enough to get my hair moist, but not run down in my eyes and face
i used it for a week. it works fairly fast. faster if you use a blowdryer. I used it one time before a bike ride at the beach , and i really came back blond.

A friend of mine used it and he has dark/med. brown wavy hair. I don't know what kind or how much he paid for it.
He only used it once and it turned his hair kinda green within a few days. He swims a lot in his pool so I don't know if the chlorine in it affected it or what, but it looked horrible.
I'd stick with something natural like lemon juice.
