I am a man with extremely tight curls. Individual hairs look like corkscrews and are flat rather than round. African hair forms flat spirals, which is not like mine - I know, I had an African flatmate once. I have no African ancestors but this runs in the family. A cousin who has identical hair had hers straightened on a hot humid day and the treatment only lasted a few hours. Neither I, my mother nor two of my cousins have ever had a decent hairstyle because of this and it looks as if it's going into the next generation. Help?

if it's long enough, get a perm with large rods to pull some of the kink out so it'll be more of a wave rather than tight curls.

You already know that you have NO business having sex with a 17 year old guy...let alone when you are 14! Seriously. I don't care if I sound like your health teacher, but you need to stop until you are emotionally ready, and you're not obviously. OK, where do I start? First, dump your loser 17 year old "boyfriend". WTF was going through your head? He DOESN'T love you, and you DON'T love him, no matter what he has you thinking. He's using you. I went through the same situation when I was 16...my boyfriend was 21. Now I look back at that and just think...what the hell was I thinking. And I felt used. Secondly, you need to go to planned parenthood. I can understand that you don't want to tell you parents because they will "litrally kill u". You should tell your parents, and you might have to...but go to PP first. Third, wise the **** up girl. Don't be another stupid hoe....go to school and do your work and get an education. You need to stop seeing boys for a long time. Then, when you're finally ready to be responsible (when you start putting your priorities in order and when you mature) you can think about dating a boy YOUR OWN AGE. I'd say this probably won't happen until your about 17 or 18.

There is a chemical straightener, which is basically a reverse perm. When it is applied it is combed through the hair instead of the hair being rolled on perm rods.

try a relaxer, it tend to loosen up curls, also chemical hair straighting (japanese hair straightning) works for a lot of people
