I have chest length, thick, brown hair. Naturally my hair dries somewhat wavy and frizzy. I've had my hair chemically straightened and I also have to straighten it with a flat iron daily to keep in looking neat. I know my hair is very damaged, but is that the reason my hair has trouble growing out past my chest. Also, what can I do to make my damaged hair healthier?

Well i Straighten my hair every day too..and I got this shampoo at my nearest Fiesta Salons its called Curls Rock its very nice and my hair grows super fast when i use "Maine and Tail shampoo it has a picture of horses on the outside but its not just for horses i promise if you look on the back it will say for human use. It is very nice too! now for the whole iron thing i use this stuff its by got2b "crazy sleek hot smooth flat iron & blow dry lotion" it is awsome! it keeps the frizzyness down and it protects your hair and also another tip for split end i was watching wat not to wear on tlc and the hair person on their said that if you take your striaghtner and while your straightening your hair tip the straightener back towards your head and it prevents dead ends DO NOT tip it away from your head cuz u bending your hair! good luck and i would give maine and tail at least a 7 you can get it at wal-mart for like 5 dollars i know thats expensive but it shows u it works and u get a HUGE bottle! i found my got2b stuff at krogers they had it on sale when i got it

Get a good conditioner, one for damaged hair. Aussie Three Minute Miracle works very well, leave in hair for three minutes once or twice a week, should help. Otherwise use salon products. See what your hairstylist recommends. Salon products are by far the best for your hair, well worth the money.
