I have a watercolor painting about 6 X 30 in size(approximate) that I need help with info on the artist. I bought this at an auction because it is very interesting. Its a painting of a lake with houses surrounding it and all the houses have red roofs. Some simple boats on the water and a few people walking along the water. The people seem to look like they are mexican. (possibly wearing mexican sumbreros)? The Signature looks like PIACENTE? its hard to tell because the signature is sweeping at the n. The signature also has a u type sweep over the c. If anyone can tell me any info I would greatly appretiate it.

I love to do things such as drawings (with just a pencil/pen) and working with charcoals and pastels. I also like to paint, but I'm not the best at it. I'm just 17 years old, and haven't really been painting for that long...but, I'm getting discouraged. I think I'm pretty good at painting things such as landscapes, but what I really want to do is portraits...I just can't seem to get them right though. Any advice?

Thanks!

I am frustrated with how slow oil paints dry....and I do not have a quick drying medium. I am painting on a medium sized canvas. I would like to paint a yellowish sun over a turquoise heart that has already been laid down. How do I do this without producing a yellow green mess?

Besides an Artist's Statement and images of my art work, what else goes into an Art Portfolio? Is a listing of shows in which I've participated and groups to which I belong important if you are presenting the portfolio to a retail space? Is educational background necessary to include? I haven't been in school in 20 years!

I don't mean a picture of it in a book, but at the Louvre. I sort of got to see her. When I went though there was such a crowd around her that I was glad I am 5'10". If you have been there, was it like that for you also?

I'm looking for the name of the painting with a woman sitting in a chair on the right side looking to the left. Her clothes are of the 1800's. I don't know what she's doing, knitting or reading a book. I want to say the wall is greenish and there may be a picture hanging on the wall. I want to say there is a staircase but I'm not sure. Thanks!

I saw this movie on PBS two years ago. It's this couple with a painting of themselves when they were in their 20s. Everyone around them grew older and gray and they remained the age they were in the painting. When something happens to the painting it happens to them. I think they kept the painting in the attic and in the end the painting gets destroyed and they instantly became old. Thanks.
