I discovered a new passion last semester when I took a Color Theory and Application class taught through painting with acrylics. I have enough paint left over to open a store, lol, and I reeeeeaaaallllllllllly want to continue painting, but without an "assignment" I don't know what to paint! It feels wasteful to just mess around or whatever.
I would love to paint pieces for a contest or something but I don't know where to begin.

I know Michael Angelo painted the Sistine Chapel but did he employ painters to lay on their backs and paint or did he do it completely by himself.

I'm a young self representing artist for about 3 yrs now, I do pretty good, considering i'm only 21 and am alreayd gallery represented. but my own client base is hurting. I can't quite seem to paint the right things. I like to paint, and I usually paint anything. I'm low on ideas. What is more appealing to a buyer... Traditional landscapes (bob ross), Abstract , Still life (fruit) seascape , beaches...lighthouse...creepy things (scary faces ect.) ,animals?
Please help with as much information on what you like to see... Check out my site and if you want, you can tell me extra comments, I love feedback, positive or negative.
Thanks so much!
Sincerely,

I'm looking to connect with anyone familar with oil painting. I'm a newbie, trying to teach myself a few techniques. I must repeat though, I am extremely new to it.....I have some questions that I can't seem to find the answers to online. One question for example: Do I need to do anything, (sprays, oil, varnish etc) on a finished painting before framing/glass over?
Thanks for anyone that can help or add a link possibly that I haven't found. The browser takes me to about.com mostly and I don't care for it.
