I have an oil painting someone did for me. I was wondering how to frame it. I'm wondering if you're supposed to put glass over it. I see old pictures with no glass. I just wonder what is supposed to be done to preserve it.

most think the shourd is a fake but if it is shouldn't it be considered a masterpiece like the Mona Lisa and David and things like that because if it is fake it's a very good one

This name is on a woodblock print I bought in Canada in 1970s- The title is "Ladies Day" and shows sturdy, dour women standing on a street corner beneath a sign that reads "Prospect"-(street in Russian ,I believe). When I bought it, I thought this print had been in a magazine, possibly Time, with an article about International Womens' Day and womens' rights in Eastern Europe. The number below the print is 11/13.

I have these little cutters that go in the Speedball lino cutter handle, hopefully you know what I am talking about-LOL!! - and the one I use a lot, which looks like a tiny goge- is getting dull. I was wondering if I can sharpen these or if I need to buy a new one? I mean, aren't they like tiny gouge or chisel? Has anyone ever sharpened one before? This sounds like a dumb question but I was just wondering... thanks!

I just bought a small (cheap) painting circa 1950; I'm pretty sure it's painted in acrylics (it's not watercolor and not oil).

There's an old piece of masking tape in the corner - used to have a price from a tag sale or something. I can't easily get it off just by pulling/scraping without damaging the painting.

What's the best way to get it off?

I need to write an art critiscism essay for school on any painting that is not in my art book. any suggestions?

(ps. my teacher is freakin high and she expects our interpretation of the painting to be all deep so any insight on the artwork would be nice too, such as what some of the things represent and stuff)

I know that sounds stupid, but..... I have a can of taupe-brown (latex) paint I want to make into more of a copper color to paint a small area. What can I mix with it to give it an orangy-copper color? Adding red? Green? Yellow?
