The Big Guy might be right but I wonder why you want to know the famous painters of our time? History tells us the painters who will be remembered are not the ones well known in their day.The best you can do as far as getting a definitive answer to your excellent question is to look at some of the artists who have made a name for themselves over four or five decades and whose art seems to be lasting. For that, of course,you must go back to the last century (The Twentieth).

Thomas Kincade.

Mr. Kincade is very commercial, which turns off a lot of people, but his paintings and other creations are quite beautiful.
He's similar to Norman Rockwell in my opinion.
