Well, they sell shoe dye that rolls on. Like if you wanted to change the color of your pumps for another occasion. If you're just doing it for a costume and you don't care about the shoes you can spray paint them - I had a friend who spray painted both an old pair of cowboy boots and an old pair of jeans gold one Halloween

I saw somewhere that artist oil paint was used to put on scuff marks, and it worked beautifully! You'll have to let them dry, of course, a bit longer, but you can custom match the colors AND it will last! :)
