I have to make huge rocks for around the manger for my church musical at the end of this month. The less expensive the better! Well, low budget to no budget if you know what I mean! They will be on stage and need to look somewhat realistic. if you are going to suggest cardboard, where can I get some big enough pieces for cheap?

What do you think about it? My school's drama department is opening the show on Thursday. (I'm in it, of course.) We've worked soo hard!
What's your favorite song and/or scene from "Carousel"?

Also, I will be auditioning in front of everyone else who is auditioning and all of their parents, etc, so how can I get over my nervousness about this??

Sorry for the less-than-intelligent question. I just wanted to draw attention. Tomorrow I'm competing in a speech [nfl] tournament, and I'm doing a dramatic interpretation piece. It's about a woman who was abused and controlled by her husband, and one night after he beat her up she shot him, went to jail, etc. Question is: Is this too predictable? Is it something that's been done too much, overdone, perhaps? I don't know, I'm getting quite a terrible bundle of nerves, and I just want to get some feedback and advice. Thanks SO MUCH to any/all answerers!

I'm trying out for my high school's musical in a week and a half.
I've been meeting with a voice teacher for a little bit now....
I thought I sounded pretty good when I started. However, it seems like whatever my teacher tells me to do, it makes me sound worse!! Seriously, almost every little change she makes in my technique really shows...for the worse in my opinion. I'm sounding more and more timid and more and more off pitch.
What should I do? Do you think it's just my imagination? Should I quit the lessons and just work on my song by myself?
I REALLY want to make the show and I don't want my chances to be ruined by my voice teacher when my audition was fine to begin with.
Need more details? I can add some more if you want.
I appreciate every piece of advice!

There is a link for an online casting scam right here in answers. What is with the moderators? Let's bring it to their attention. The very type of thing the professionals on here are trying to save people from being taken by and they have a sponsored link!

I have already asked a question on how to choose a song for my audition, but I'm pressed for time and I have narrowed it down to these, which I am comfortable singing:
I Enjoy Being a Girl -- Flower Drum Song
I Am Sixteen Going on Seventeen (although I've already been convinced you shouldn't sing songs from the show you're auditioning for)
I Know Things Know -- Into the Woods
Tonight -- West Side Story

I do know that the last two aren't very relevant to the character I'm aiming for (Louisa, 13), but I've finally decided I need to sing a song I'm comfortable with. I need help choosing which one to sing... if you have a better idea for me (upper/mezzo soprano) then please include it! :)

I'm 19 (a guy) in LA but I look like 15 or 16. Should I put "18 to look younger" in the skills section on my acting resume? I want people to know I'm over 18 because that would give me an advantage over real 15-year-olds.

I have to write and then perform a ten minute monologue about a famous woman. Perferably an actress/comedianne/famous.
The person must be white (I'm not racist, but I have to stay in my race).
I'd love to have a fun death part....but not a must.

Please help me!!

Im an actor, a pretty damn good one too. Im not just saying that either, several of my instructors have had great things to say about all of my performances. Heres the thing Im "Black", and casting directors are always trying to cast me into these stereotypical no liner roles. Its not fair, they dont even take my auditions seriously theyre always like hmmm maybe he could be the funny black sidekick or the thug etc........I think its kinda racist really and Im sick of it!!!! Any suggestions?
