What do you think about it? My school's drama department is opening the show on Thursday. (I'm in it, of course.) We've worked soo hard!
What's your favorite song and/or scene from "Carousel"?

Rich Z: Yes! I love that too. They guy who plays Billy in our production, Darryl is incredible. I love sitting and watching him sing that long one.
Libby: If I Loved You! Beautiful one. That's the one that I get caught up in and I forget I'm in high school putting on a play. Our Billy and Julie have so much chemistry.

DMCG: Yeah! "This Was A Real Nice Clambake". That's a fun one to perform. And yes, "You'll Never Walk Alone" is the ending song. Thanks for the kind words! <3

I agree with all the answers above, but "June is Bustin' Out all Over" is a great song too. It's good that Billy and Julie have good chemistry. Just as a side story, I met Christine Johnson, who sang the original "You'll Never Walk Alone". She was a great aunt of a friend of mine and she could still sing that song amazingly well in her 80s! She told us that Rogers and Hammersteein were great friends of theirs and they had fun working on their shows. Anyway, it's always good to know when another group of people are getting to perform the story of Carousel. I hope you all have a great time doing the show and carry the memory of all its beauty and magic for the rest of your lives. Break a leg!

I love "Carousel"....never fails, everytime I hear "You'll Never Walk Alone", I cry....but I also think "If I Loved You" is a great love song. Once Billy thinks theiving will make things better for him and his family, I hate that he dies. But I am so touched that he gets a second chance at making a difference in his daughter's life...as I said, I always cry at the end...no matter what, Julie's love for Billy never faded. Don't forget "What's the Use of Wonderin":)

I read the book in school. I also saw the movie on TV many times.

My favorite song is when he is thinking about his son that can grow up like him and then realizes the child might be a girl who required nurturing. He worries about her "being dragged up in slums with a bunch of bums... like me."
