Ok....i have recently gotten interested in acting.....stuff like Hannah Montana......and now i really want to act

I have no experience whatsoever, and i get rewally nervous though

We had to do this activity where we could use nothing but sounds to get people to move and I was stuck, I couldn't think of any sounds that would help to cause the person to move. I felt I really let my group down because I couldn't actively participate. What does it take to be a good improviser and how can I work on my improv skills

this makes it all the harder for me, i think i have looks, charms, to specifically be a disney star but i would take any role on any show. & i think i could model too. i live in long island new york, & im sixteen years old but my problem is my mom 'acts' like shes behind my dream but really gives no investment at all to help me out. i have no idea where to start, its not like we have a money problem its that shes lazy & isnt very supportive or cares about my dream. i know most people say being famous is their dream but i want it so bad i want to be out there, i know the baggage fame comes w the good and bad. & it reallly has been my dream ever since i was a kid, it would go away at times then a month come back stronger and more determined then ever. @ 1 point i even had a meeting w new faces but that didnt work out b/c again my mom was like oh & never said a word of it again. so yeah im kind of stuck & need guidence & i know yahoo answers isnt the best place 2 find it but its something

okay, at the end of september, i have an audition for my community's children's theater production. my parents said i can only do the show if i keep up a grade of all straight A's. and that kinda hard to do since the rehearsals are going to run from october-december! and i get home from school (i am in middle school) at 3:10 pm. everyday and i get a LOT of homework and tests. rehearsals will probably start around 5 pm or 6 pm i'm guessing and end at around 8:30-9:00 pm since it's a school night. there's no doubt i'll miss at least 3 rehearsals to stay at home to study for a big test. but how can i balance it? i really want to to the play, but i can only do that if i keep my grades high. please suggest? 10 pts. for sure.

As a seasoned performer of the arts, I pride myself on being unlimitedly open to other ideas. I wasn't always that way. A time back, I thought Sondheim musicals were the only musicals that should EVER be performed... lol But, now, I am more mature, older. I understand that it takes all kinds, raw, trained, young, old, racially diverse, tone deaf, method and works in progress, to be able to create the world of theatre. There are countless tales from seasoned, now famous and admired actors who were told to get the hell off the stage, out of film, because they couldn't become anyone....

I just wondered, if you guys have any stories about wind bag professionals who told you you weren't ever going to 'make it'... yet here you are, still doing it and loving it? Is there anyone out there who WASN'T discouraged by the non know it alls of acting and theatre?

hey there
hoping some indusrty buffs are online to help me.
Im 17 years old. Im going to Uni next year, going for my masters in communications and creative industries, special directors course, graduating top of my high school for media and drama.
anyway my question is should i start off doing anything i can in the industry now- for experience? even fetching coffees, being a clapper loader ect?
or will this make me look insignifgant or underachieving in the eyes of potential contacts?
also geographically what is th best decision to make, is Hollywood too competitive? should i start out somewhere else?

Well I want to be an actress but I can't think of anyway to be discovered!
And I can't find any auditions being held near me.
And my dad says i should make like these short shows and put them on youtube and then get discovered that way.
