I can really sing On My Own in the key of G and I love that song but I already sang it for this particular workshop. I prefer a ballad that I can put feeling into because my voice is so-so but I can pull off the emotion.

Set up: Two girls. One mother, one daughter. “Daughter” is running, very hard. “Mother” is standing there, making her run faster and faster. Younger appears to be very frightened by her. There is a loud pulse in the background.

Daughter:
I never know when I get to stop.
Or how long I have to go before you let me.
I can’t stop.
You can’t stop. (yells to mother)
Why am I along for this?
Did you have to take me with you? (long pause)
Maybe if I keep pushing..
Just a little longer..
Just a little farther..
I’ll fall out of it.
Or maybe…
(Girl collapses, loud screaming face on screen, then goes to silence, except for the heartbeat in the background slower and not as loud. Out of breath.)
Maybe I’ll get out of this myself.
And leave you,
Alone,
Strained,
And deserted.
Like me.

Do you know any group/program/anything that use drama/acting/performing with/for a purpose?

Today in Drama, we watched Shakespeare Behind Bars. Its a prison where they have a shakespeare program. And it changes them. Helps them stay out of trouble. They get really into it.

So do you kno anything like this. Like a bussiness or something? Besides prison and church?

Hello, i may be delusional on this one but b/f anything, please give me your opinions. i have this acting teacher who is literally obsessed with performing in front of her students even when she is not acting. when she individually criticizes her students, she gives this annoying smirk and shows off her acting abilities with this little performance. it drives me nuts. i feel so indignant when she smirks with pretense when she criticizes her students. it's so funny how she admonishes others with lies, complimenting the students when there's no need to. any opinions and can anyone give me the criteria of a good acting teacher?

This probably sounds stupid and like every other teenager out there but all of my life I've wanted to get into the professional acting field. I live in Wisconsin and am sixteen so obviously there isn't much I can do here, no agencies around me-nothing anything like that.

If, after I graduate and I go to school in New York, would it even be remotely possible to become a professional actress without being rich?

Also, do you have any suggestions for getting noticed? I am involved in all of the school plays and involved in another drama club outside of school. Is there anything I can do to REALLY get noticed?

I attended one of the meetings last year and was not chosed to go on. Of course, they said "you are very beautiful but not what we are looking for this year but come back next time." Well, tonight is the night that it is back and I'm wondering if I should go? I researched it a bit more and the fact that if you are chosen to go on you have to pay at least $500...I'm wondering if it is a scam or not. I've researched it and there are so many different opinions. Anybody had personal experience or know somebody who has done this before? From research, it says you should never pay them money but I have no experience with this stuff so anybody have any suggestions. If I should go? If selected should you pay? Or is it just another scam?
