Ancient Greek playwrights; I'd say Sophocles who brought the third actor onstage.

Henrik Johan Ibsen (March 20, 1828 – May 23, 1906) was a major Norwegian playwright who was largely responsible for the rise of the modern realistic drama, often referred to as the "father of modern drama."

I think the father of drama is none other than WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE. He is famous since his time itself for writing melodramas ( melody + drama ). He has written many dramas which include all subjects like comedy (comedy of errors), romance (Romeo & Juliet), tragedy etc.
So there is no other option than Shakespeare.

"... the 'father of drama' is clearly Pisistratus who sanctioned tragedy, adopted it as the 'ward of Athens' and, wherever it originally came from, took it in and gave it a home, an oxygen-rich incubator in which to grow and thrive."
