Was your high school drama club so $broke$ that you had to perform "Our Town"?

No royalties, no set, I think our school did it twice in five years...

Our Town isn't a bad play at all. I performed in it once 2 years ago. I played Emily Webb. I thought It was a great experience. Even some of the best drama organizations do it because it is a great classic.

You make it sound as though people would only think to perform "Our Town" out of necessity, and not because it's one of the greatest and most beloved of all American dramas.
