The age range is 7 to 14. I'm directing a drama club for a local private school and I can't find a Cinderella script. I know I'm goin to do some editing, but I'm lost!

The rights to Cinderella are owned by Musical Theatre International. Their home page is www.mtishows.com and the show page for Cinderella is http://www.mtishows.com/show_home.asp?ID=000020

They also have a kids version of the show, which is very Disney influenced and not as long. The show page for it is http://www.mtikidscollection.com/v4_show_home.asp?ID=000268

This might be kind of cool but do you remember Hilary Duff in A Cinderella Story? Just try to rearange the objects and plot points from the original. Here's some ideas.

The Ball - Maybe Homecoming. Or if it's not high school type, maybe some sort of small party
The Glass Slipper - A piece of jewelry
The Fairy Godmother - An inspiring teacher

Just read this and see what you think. (Maybe it's best answer worthy)

A shy and nerdy girl, Kate - for instance, moves to a new city with her widowed father. When he remarries, he meets a beautiful, but evil, woman who's also a widow and has two daughters. While trying to adjust to her new home and new lifestyle, she meets a good friend named Bridget - for instance. Bridget and Kate become really good friends and then Kate meets a helpful teacher named Miss Jackson. When Kate and Bridget get invited to a masqerade bash, Miss Jackson insists that Kate goes to meet new people in ehr new city. When Kate meets a really hot guy, he tries to see her face but Bridget wants to leave and Kate has to go with her. When hugging goodbye, David - for instance - accidentally undoes Kate's necklace, and then she runs away with Bridget before he's able to give it back to her. Then, there's posters up because David really wants to give Kate her necklace back. Eventually, David will find out that Kate's a brainiac.
