i want to take my son to see thomas live for his birthday in two weeks but when i go to the ticket master website it says it has to charge over $8 (more) per ticket for something called a convenience charge. what the heck is a convenience charge? and is there any where i can buy tickets with out being charged this 'convenience' charge? the tickets are already ridiculous for something you're taking a child to. i also have to take my 4 year old daughter who apparantly i have to pay full price for (which is also ridiculous) so if anyone knows how i can find tickets for an event with out having to pay that charge that would be great. also some days/showings of the event have different convenience charges which i think is odd. anyway that's all i was just wondering how to get around a charge that seems uneccesary

i wasn't sure what category to put this under so i just put it under theatre!

Female, 20, new to acting, need a one-minute monologue ASAP. I am really stressed out, I have so much other school work to do, so I guess I am feeling desperate about this!

My instructor was pretty general with topics and sources of where to get them from (she said no shakespeare though ??), just as long as they are relevant to my age/sex. Also any tips on how to be less nervous when I actually do the monologue would be awesome. Thanks SO much!! =)

I am going to be in a play at my school and I have a scene where I have to cry. I can't cry on command. How can I make myself cry? I dont mean like balling my eyes out, I just need tears to come out and for my eyes to be watery. The scene is 10 minutes long and I need to be crying the whole time.

I have a friend who wants to be an actress who lives in Hollywood. To get an agent, you have to have film experience and roles. BUT to get roles, you need to have an agent so he can give you auditions. How do you get roles, real movie roles without having an agent?

Okay. Here's the overview. Their are two feuding families (Sound familiar?). One is Irish, and another is British. But at first, the two families were close. Both the heads of either household were friends and bussiness partners. Then, Mr. Sutherland (the Brit) cheats and withdraws all of the joint stocks and shares of both companies. That's where the feud starts. Now, their children are childhood sweethearts. And because of the feud, they never see each other again. Fast forward 9 years later: Mr. Sutherland's daughter Veronica is already 16, and Mr. Greenhill's son Mark is now 15. Mark is desparate to get into a relationship, so his two friends Henry and James set him up on a date. And the childhood sweethearts reunite. They fall in love in the true sense of the word. But their families disagree to their match. They try to separate the two once more. But Mark and Veronica are determined to be in each other's arms. Mark follows her around the world (where ever she goes), finally, he

My elementary school is planning a play "The Lion King" using music from the broadway play. We will not be charging any money for the play. Do we need to apply for rights or permission from Disney? If so, how or where would we do this at?

I'll be auditioning for a male role in Midsummer Night's Dream soon and I have to prepare a comedic Shakespeare monologue.

I've done a fair amount of theater work, but I came from a small community where just about any male was welcome and auditions were very laid-back. Now I've moved to a larger community and there will, no doubt be significant competition.

My question is whether it's a good idea to work an accent into an audition for shakespeare. I've done accent work before (Brooklyn accent for "The Guys"), but never a British accent. My in-laws are British and I think I can pull it off with some work and help, but I don't want to use it in an audition if it would be distracting.

Thanks for any help.

I'm working on a student piece, and one scene is this late-night interior in a city apartment. the only "light source" (if you will) that's "inside" the characters' space is static on an old TV. Being in a city, there's the light from outside the apartment- street lights, headlights, general city-late-at-night activity to consider (there's an upstage left window in the set design). So the question is what color gels should we use to get this look? (Rosco numbers, if you know them, please!) We're working with some old Par cans for backlight, and a mix of sourse 4s and old Altman 360s (I'm not sure which version- they're pushing 30 years old, though) for front and sides. Thanks!

I am 15 years old and I want to be in a few movies or episode series as an extra-curricular activity. Education is still my main priority and I'm really focused in school since I want to get into an ivy league college, but I also want to have something extra to do other thatn studying my butt off. I'm not tall so I can't go into modeling and I live in the DFW area. I tried audition websites but they don't really work. What do I do to become an actress despite my hectic schedule? I don't really want to join any talent agencies.
