It differs - and they'll tell you what they want.

You may already know this - but as an actor - you should always have at least 4 monologues ready to do at any given moment. 2 dramatic - 2 comedy - and especially if you're doing stage stuff - at least 1 of them should be classical. Having more is best - and certainly never hurt. That way if somebody asks for a monologue - and you weren't expecting it - you're ready. AND - if you have a chance to prepare a monologue that you think is a good one for the role you want - that's great - and you're adding a monologue to your list.
