Ronnie Barker.
He submitted scripts for the 2 Ronnies using this name. He figured if they were genuinely funny then the production team would use them as opposed to just using them because they were by him.

As others have already said, Gerald Wiley was the pen-name of Ronnie Barker. In my opinion he was a comic genius & a brilliant character actor. If you watch any of his stuff & have any sense of humour you'll appreciate that 'they don't get much better than that' (Fork 'andles, Open All Hours, Porridge etc)
Such a shame anout some of his homelife though.
