So I've ehard, abut forgetting the identity.
But I am such a visual person, that I CAN'T not see the real person.
Even John Malkovich with a LOT of facial hair in THe Man in the Iron Mask.
I can't help it.

A good actor to me can many different types of roles. One example is Leo Cap...with his role in Gilbert Grape being very different from the role he played in Titanic. But you really believe in both characters separately.

Someone who disappears into a role, that you are not paying attention to the actor, but get involved with the character he is playing. Tom Hanks is a good actor, Tom Cruise is not. IMHO

A good actor or actress to me, is someone that lets their own ego melt away and becomes the character. After a while, you don't think "hey that's Anthony Hopkins" you are totally convinced that they ARE the person they're portraying.
