"I think therefore I am"
Assumes that there must be a thinker for there to be thoughts.

Perhaps thoughts could exist independently of thinkers.

Maybe it comes from the way we speak:

If you say "It's raining"
Where is the 'It'.

The rain is not being performed by some 'It'.
There is no 'IT'.

The same with- 'I'm' Thinking.
It could just be a linguistic construct.

The existence of a being hasn't been proven.

What do you think?

I'm answered a number of questions on Yahoo! answers about suicide, or in general about people not excited about living life. In almost every thread, roughly 80% of the responses are similar to this:

"You have some serious issues and you need professional help"

What I don't understand is why do we chastise people that find no joy in life, that obviously there must be something seriously wrong with someone not happy to be alive. I know there is this popular belief that life is a gift from God, and that it is far better to exist than to not exist. But what about the people that don't think life is a gift, but a curse. Why do we tell these people that the problem lies souly with them, and if they can't deal with it, then they have "issues". I am happy with my life, but I can understand why someone wouldn't be. Why can't someone just die if they choose to without being harassed about it?

Why don't people understand that we aren't even a tiny spot in this universe and that we shouldn't be so concerned with ourselves?
