interesting question

I think some people live to eat because they are depressed or stressed etc and it appears to help get rid of those feelings, however this is unhealthy. I find that I do not feel full
when I am stressed so I keep eating when the real solution would be just to relax. Recently though I have started to sleep whenever I feel stressed and that takes away the feeling of being hungry when I'm not. Food is supposedly essential to live
itself but we would not need as much of it if we were calm
and happy all the time as we do not use food up as quickly when we are healthy, however in times of stress the human body uses up fats, sugars and vitamins very quickly and this is really unhealthy.
I prefer to eat less rather than more but I can only do this when I am calm.

You have to eat first in order to live. The former comes first as an action before the latter could be made. You cannot live without getting first the nutrients your body needs. One has to eat all the foods in order to survive. Then you make a living to get the necessary food for the next day. It's a continuing process of life.

hhmmm. fanstastic question! I do both, i would much rather live to eat, meaning that I really enjoy the whole process, picking fresh fruits and veggies from the garden, making delicious meals in my kitchen from scratch. Savoring the smells and flavors with friends and family and never touching fast food or quick+easy snacks.
that to me, would be living to eat. rather than someone who emotionally or neglectfully gorges themselves on food all the time and is unhealthy and fat.
otherwise, I eat to live because we're busy and we're working and we're running here and there and so the only reason we actually stop and feed ourselves is cause our tummy's are rumbling, and we get headaches and low blood sugar and our bodies are saying "feed me okay!"

I used to live to eat, but more recently, as my life has improved with therapy, I now just eat as much as I need to get the required healthy calories. It's a lot nicer, this way!!

Eat to live. Usualy. I don't binge that often.
Actualy, I probably don't eat as much as the next guy. I just sometimes go for the candy bar instaid of the carrot.

I live to eat! Man, I love good food, although I have a weakness for that junk food, but really good food is great!

I eat because I like to live. Of course, I do have a lot of sweets when I'm not hungry. :-P
