What this person sais, what this person does, how this person makes you feel or something else.

What gives you prove that somebody loves you?

I am just curious what your thoughts are about that.

i have a question about the matrix idea and solipsism.

first off i know they can never be disproved in an emperical sense because its impossible to prove that reality exists with are senses rendered as "illusion" as posed by the ideas.

yet there are many good arguments out there that pretty much shows that the ideas are known to be self refuting in theory and in logic. they are also known to be irrational.

but when people say they the ideas are "disprovable" do they mean that the ideas are actualy POSSIBLE?? or just disprovable?

in other words they can be SHOWN false, but never PROVEN false due to an emperical technicality, correct?

*If you're a female, let's say it's your sister and a man you don't know.

*You can only choose ONE

*You can't give your life in order to safe both of them

Would you preserve the species or live your last days with your sibling.

As philosophy concerns itself with 'truth', consider the following experiment. If we were to arrange an experiment where the respondent was hooked up to a mild or moderate electrical shock and shocked each time they told the truth, would the test subject avoid or fear telling the truth over time?

How many people, due to some external reaction or response, fear telling the truth in your estimation?

I have to read The Great Dialogues of Plato for a class and I was just wondering if anyone could fill me in on a little pre-reading knowledge that I might need to know about. And I'm not really a philosophy buff either, despite my answers icon, so anything would be helpful.
