The gullible and mis-informed. It could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. When the superpowers square off against each other in two camps, then come back and we'll talk apacolpse.

Until then, just think regional conflicts, wars between rump states, proxy wars and brinksmanship. If you recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, a coalition of Arab States (Egypt, Syria and Jordan) were soundly defeated by the Israelis. That was a worse situation than the current conflict and it didn't raise a blip on the world war radar (not that it didn't have the potential to spark a global war).

The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.

Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask when is the apacolypse, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.

Our biggest risk is an accidental launch of nukes by one of the nuclear powers.

Hum, as a rule, I think prophesy is a bunch of hooey. However, I must admit the 012 thing makes me a little nervous. Here is the proponderence of evidence. There are discussions of the comet which "will strike the Planet" in no less then 4 seperate sources. The Mayan Calendar, the Bible code, some Nostrodamus references and - startlingly - science itself. Science knows that in 2012 the earth will line up with the center of the universe for the first time in like 25000 years and, because of gravitational wakes in space, we will be more vunerable to this kind of thing. However, The Mayan predictions are kind of weird, they predict that in every age peole won't trust the government, there will be droughts and floods and people will make war. Gee, I could predict that and I'm not psychic. Nostrodamus is notoriously difficult to interpet unless you know what your looking for and the Bible code has some people who would debunk it with ease. Science says nothing definitive, but in case your nervous, let me tell you the rest of the prophesies. The comet won't actually hit us. The world won't end. Each of the three prophetic sources say that God or someone else will divert the comet and humanity will enter a golden age because people will finally realize why they were put here. Kind of a trial by fire. So, no, the world won't end in 2012, even if the prophesies are correct. In fact, things will get better after that. And besides, Prophesy is hooey. :)

2012? I thought it was supposed to be 2013 that a big comet or something was supposed to hit the earth. I could be wrong though. Even so, I don't think anyone can say with any certainty exactly when the world will end. We could be hit by a huge piece of rock falling from the sky at any time, a volcano could suddenly and violently erupt creating a tsunami that would wipe out any life remaining after the eruption. I could go on and on about the natural disasters. Then there's the man-made ones. One lunatic with the right armaments and bye bye world.

This is absurd. What makes you think the world will end in 2012? The world will not end. It will continue on beyond 2012. Because we are human beings, we are both destructive and constructive.

I personally don't think it will end in 2012. Whenever it ends it ends. Do you believe in a judgement day, or supernova of the sun? Could we all be killed by global warming, or possibily the next ice age?

The world is not going to end until around 2074. And in 2010, Atlantis will be found to be authentic.
