Saying that complex biology works because of God is like saying that complex technology works because of magic. Whether scientists should be creating their own forms of life is a different arguement.

Is this a question or a statement?

By the way it is put I feel that you are not looking to have an open discussion about this.

However, I do not wish to disappoint you so here's some food for thought:

Some claim that there has to be a God because the chances of this earth coming into existence as it has are so small that it is comparable to a hurricane blowing across a junkyard, with the wind currents spontaneously assembling a boeing 747. Sounds impossible, right?

Now consider this: what are the chances of a supreme being coming into existence with powers that let it control and manipulate, well, anything and everything? Isn't therefore God the ultimate boeing 747?

Anyway, as to your question (or statement), please follow this link and you'll find that scientists have in fact been able to create matter where there was none before. It truly is amazing stuff:

Your question reminds me of the movie “The Gods Must Be Crazy,” a native in the Kalahari Desert encounters technology for the first time--in the shape of a Coke bottle. I found this to be very amusing, but I also began to see parallels between his thought process, and that of the modern day Theist. Both are using CAVEMAN LOGIC to explain their world. I fail to see the difference between “hmm, bottle fall from sky, must be gods” and “hmm, trees, butterflies, the complex human organism prove the existence of god.”

In both of these cases, someone is simply replacing one unknown for another unknown, but proving nothing!

Not only can God not be proven, but I will also go so far as to say that God can be disproved. It is impossible for something to be all knowing and all good. If you are aware that something bad is going to happen, and you allow it to happen anyway, then you cannot be all good. If God created everything, then he also created evil. It is also impossible to be all-powerful; can God create a rock that even he himself cannot move?

I would have thought that as man became more knowledgeable and logical that he would have pushed aside his caveman beliefs, but it seems to be just the opposite.

I don't understand your reasoning here. You are saying that because we have fingerprints, then God must exist? Does he plan on 'printing' us as we enter heaven?

I think the main reason people reject 'God' is because the concept is usually presented in a very closed minded way. People that profess to know the truth always seem intent on telling other people what to believe.

Why does it bother you that other people don't believe in God? Does this somehow make your belief less important? It's a free country. For example: I have a neighbor who believes the cable company listens to her conversations over the phone. I don't tell her what to believe. I privately think she's crazy. Is any of this getting through? Just accept that you have faith in something that others don't.

I really hate to tell you this but humans have already created different types of matter. it is called fusion, all you need is enough energy. as far as how our body works, it has evolved just check the past, and you will see where it came from. saying all of that, science can never prove any religion wrong, because religion is known through faith, and as such is not testable by science. I am not a believer, but you can rest assured that regardless of what science finds, they can never prove there is no god. furthermore, no scientific finding should shake the faith of a true believer, because it will never exclude the idea of a creator.

Have you ever taken a biology class? Did you ever look into a microscope and see tiny bacteria cells floating in their own "universe"? I did, and most of us have at some point. One day I had to ask myself, "Here we are, so big and so important, on this earth that we pretty much rule, minus natural occurances like weather and disasters. We see ourselves as surpreme (of course many put a form of "God" above people) and all other life on earth as lesser. We live in a vast and unending Universe that we as humans have barely scratched the surface of. Is it then possible, that we are minute to something much grander? Is it possible that we are bacteria to something else, some life force that looks at us through a petri dish? Does bacteria know it's small?" Probably not. Just something to think about. Maybe we aren't as special as we like to think we are.

This is a common mistake. First you have a mystery that cannot be explained - for example, fingerprints. Then you try to supply an answer, which might be 'enetics', 'evolution', 'chance' or 'God'. You can choose to believe any of those, but choosing it does not make it true. The only truth is that we can't be sure.

All of the things you describe, including the origin of life, can and have been explained by natural forces that do not invoke god. If you educated yourself you would find this out for yourself.

...the "fool" in his heart says there is no God... better to bask in the splendor of the Lord then to try to talk with a "fool".....
"they" just don't know...ignorance is their bliss...
