I just wanted to find out how is that in your life? Would you risk the stability and satisfaction of your present life for the chance of having your great dream to come true?

Well, if you haven't realized it already, I'm referring to the philosopher/ancient writter, not the food. Haha. Anyways, I think the Bush Administration should read his work on the Idols? Does anyone else see them being fooled by the idol of the theater, cave, tribe, etc?

It is often argued that free will is logically inconsistent with God's omniscience. A counter to this argument I have heard is that just because God can know everything, does not mean that he does, and that he can choose not to know certain things.

How is it possible to choose not to know something without already knowing it?

I ask because I am taking an introductory philosophy course which is currently examining the Argument from Evil and the Free Will Theodicy, and I am attempting to understand how it would make sense that God could limit his own omniscience and still be omniscient.

mine was when my daughter was about three weeks old and she had finally fallen asleep and it suddenly dawned on me I was a mother, until that moment it didn't seem real. I even remember the smell of the fabric conditioner on the quilt I was lying on. I have never felt so good! What was your ultimate happiness moment?

This is a question that has caused me significant difficulty over the years. As far as I can tell, "rights" to anything are only granted by virtue of a social contract, and do not exist in a fundamental way. However, this conclusion is antithetical to my personal ethics - thus the dilemna. I suppose also that, by extension, one needs to consider the meaning of the word "right" in this context. Thoughtful input would be greatly appreciated.

I don't mean just peoples opinions, I mean actual truth. I'm not sayying it's easy to know, especially in our mind bogglingly complex world, but could truely knowing right from wrong be possible, perhaps with the wisedom that comes with years of trying to truely figure it out?
