Knowledge is only destructive because absolute knowledge does not exist. Everything you think you know is only a different way of shaping how you perceive the world, and some of those modes of perception can be destructive in various ways. Knowledge itself is not destructive.

Another way of looking at knowledge: In the same way guns don't kill people, people kill people... Knowledge doesn't destroy, people destroy because of their perceptions of and reactions to their supposed knowledge.

Yup, it can definitely be destructive. It depends on what kind of knowledge it is, and more importantly, how we use it. I mean, we learned how to create the atomic bomb, right? And THAT was destructive in both the literal sense, and in the sense that now we can use bombs as weapons of warfare, which kill a lot of people.

Sometimes knowledge is destructive because knowledge is not always true.Sometimes it's destructive because when someone has knowledge they lack wisdom, understanding and the ability to learn from others because they "know".

There is a saying, "What you don't know won't hurt", or "Ignorance is Bliss".

Of course this is not absolutely true in every case but where you can do nothing about something anyway, you are better off not knowing.
