Can we truly do ANYTHING that we want, simply because we believe it?

Mind over matter is always possible as as much possible as you want to. It is your choice. It is your idea.
When you believe in something you can make that belief into reality by inflicting action/movement to it. (you're talking about matter in motion right?)

I watched a movie years ago about Marines holding buckets of water in their outstretched arms. Well, I started out with a small amount of water and each time added more. I used this 'mind over matter theory' to survive an abusive marriage until I could get out of there. Now, today, all I have to do is stretch my 'mind' to that space when I was holding the water buckets...and I can do anything I want if I can dream it; I can achieve it. True story!

Not everything. If I truly believed I could fly with every fiber in my body and I jumped off the Empire State Building, I would die. My body (matter) would over come my mind (the belief I can fly).

No.

Just because you think a relationship will work, be it family or lover does not mean it will come back at you.

But it should never stop you from trying, until you get tired of trying.

On the other hand, omitting family and mate, you can attempt anything you believe in. If you fail, you learn.

I don't think so...some things, like flight, really are physically impossible, and no matter how much you want to do this, you will never be able to fly! Other things...well, I know I'm not carsick anymore because I think I'm not able to be carsick...it depends on the situation.

The fish trap exists because of the fish. Once you've gotten the fish you can forget the trap. The rabbit snare exists because of the rabbit. Once you've gotten the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words exist because of meaning. Once you've gotten the meaning, you can forget the words. Where can I find a man who has forgotten words so I can talk with him?

Mind over matter is NEVER possible. Delusion, however, is an option in all situations.
