assisted suicide...I would like to know your thoughts with respect to people who are considered competent and are in debilitating health conditions (physical or mental). You can reason in any way that you would like. I am interested in this subject for research, so I would like to read different opinions

What a difficult and very personal thing you are asking.
I believe in assisted suicide...given the right circumstances. I DO NOT believe in it in reference to mental diseases...that's too far from "knowing consent, sound mind" principles. I have known, personally, a few who contemplated it...one for eagerly sought it. Having incurable cancer, or, for me, personally, Alzheimer's, would be something that I have already told my family I will not live with. Some members of my family have said I am a coward..some just stay silent...but one and all feel it is wrong. I do not. I have been with people who had both..seen what it does to families...seen the legacy of pain, uselessness and uncertainty it leaves behind once the end has come. Especially Alzheimer's...that leaves fear...fear that it will happen to you. Maybe I am selfish, for fearing to go through it...or love my family too much to put them through it. Either way, I would like to see some sort of legislation that makes it possible to do it legally.

As humans if we see an animal dieing slowly and suffering we shoot it. If a family pet takes ill with an incurable disease we put it to sleep so it does not have to suffer. In nature animals will kill mutant or suffering animals that will other most likely die a slow miserable death.
I think we should fight for the life we are given as it is a gift that some people all too soon have taken away from them. However if someone is suffering unnecessarily form an incurable that is going to lead to their demise..........it seems like the human thing to do. To put them out of their misery. Watch the movie "it's my party" it covers this issue deeply.

I am a strong believer that this is an individuals choice. Birth was given to us, not by choice so if a human being decides to take their life, who are we to stop them. Freedom is just that. Freedom! How can humanity want to save a human but still send them to war.!

People have right to live, and definitely have right to die.If we have right to choose "how" to life we may choose "how" to die..Violation of all kind of human rights is the case..may be even Universal Law is under denial...That which attempt to dictate us what right is ,is well known society...taking role of god....and demanding to serve it. God is much more modest, he does not demand us, up to us..Society called a religion again taking role of god and obligate .One thing is clear, it had been stated in many manuscripts...We cannot serve two masters. Only One...then we are choosing which one. Up to us...
