Who’s in charge?
I feel that educated idiots who have no real grip on reality or real people are being paid to think.
Undermining centuries of culture and placing unrealistic pressure on the youth of today.
Their prudish and unsubstantiated moralistic jargon has brought about more social problems than they have fixed, placing pressure on families and individuals to act life out of a book of instructions. Rather than relying on their inbuilt sense of judgment and values to guide them through life.
Is it time these social working Doo Gooders took a step back

.... "No Cause argument"?

PLEASE notice, I am NOT talking about matters of faith here. I respect everyone's faith and this is NOT a question about religion/faith (or even the existence, or not, of God).

I am merely asking if a "philosophical and/or Logical" First Cause argument for the "creation out of nothing" is really not, in fact, debunked by its very own premise (e.g. First Cause for a First Cause, and so on)? ... In other words, do we truly comprehend what “nothing”, “Nothing” or “Absolute Nothing” mean(s) in “creation out of nothing”?

Or are we saying, as Saint Thomas Aquinas, postulated: God (call it the First Cause for our philosophical purposes here) is so perfect that He (It) does NOT have to exist? ... But even then, isn’t that merely a circular philosophical construct/assertion to obscure an internal fallacy - as in saying, for instance: Nothing comes from Nothing, except for Nothing Itself?

What is the philosophy of pain? I understand that pain is entirely subjective, and nobody can definitely pin down pain, as one cannot study pain as one would study, say, cirrhosis or influenza. In todays world, we are taught that we should deal with pain, rather than kill it. Why is this so? In this modern age with such wonderful medicine as morphine and oxycodone why is it's use discouraged so? I understand the risk of addiction, but would that not be considered the lesser of two evils? Is it not better to live a blissful, pain-free life, than a life of chemical independence and agony? I ask this, for I suffer chronic pain.

To those of you who believe opiates are unsuitable medicine, especially for a young adult (20) such as myself, let me ask you:
What is the reason you have for prohibiting people like me from receiving adequate relief? Why should I live with my pain when we have the technology to get rid of it by taking a pill? It is far less time consuming than alt. medicine.
