Anyone tried this and had results? Or is it just positive thinking or creative visualisation? This leads onto to the question ... do we create our own luck in life?

Absolutely yes.
There are things you cannot do anything about, the place you come from and all its consequences; you are part of the culture you belong to.
But through life is important your aptitude, if your mind is full of negatives thoughts and the end they'll become real.
Is important too, how you manage with your fails, they have an specific weight.

Positive thinking and visualisation works. But you still cannot take away a little bit of bad or good luck that gets thrown our way once in a while of which we have no input. But then there is also common sense and a healthy attitude to work and play which play a major role in the paths our lives takes.

I disagree with the person who quotes the bible. I am a bible believing person and yes God can give us blessings, but if that is the only source of good things than we loose our uniquness as beings who make choices and have freedom.

Positive thinking and visulisation are tools we can use as we go through life, but they are not
exlusive to human process to create our own luck in life.

No amount of positive thinking or visualisation can prevent a drunk driver from slamming in to our car and taking us out of the picture. There are definatly things that no amount of positive thinking or visualistiaon can change. On the other hand, there are some things that we can use thoughts to infulence the outcome of things.

I can give one example. Being a retired nurse and also a woman who has given birth there is a technique of visulation that can be helpful in helping speed the delivery process. A positive attitude to let the body work with each contraction and not fight it. Also picturing the dilitation of the cervex and the progression of the movment of the babies head can cut down on hours of labor. I have seen it happen and I used the thought process myself. Yet, if a woman has physical issues that prevents such a process in delivery.

This idea of luck is a thought of random good things that happen upon our life. And in a way that is true. I can picture in my imagination a huge piece of multi faced piece of dice that we take in our hands and roll in hopes of coming up with a lucky roll of the dice. We can have a bad streak of the roll or we can be unlucky in the roll. If we only give our power up to the roll of the dice of life we are defeatist. If we only give glory to our random roll of the dice then we are foolish.

Our fate in life isn't all that simple to be given power to positive thinking or visulation, we need to add a big dose of good judgment, wisdom, self control, moral knowledge,experience, resolve, education, pragmatic thinking, faith, and trust to create what in life we might call luck.

I heard about it on TV and tried it myself. It sort of worked then backfired so I don't think it is as good as it has been portrayed or maybe it was a message to not interfere in things we do not understand. It can't do any harm I suppose so why not give it a go.
