I have an acoustic guitar which i perform with, in front of big crowds, a lot. but the thing is, it does not have a pick up, so it's not amplified and therefore, very quiet. Is there a cheap solution to this? perferably not something I have to install and that is expensnive. Thanks so much.

p.s. if I works, you get 10 points!!!!

The thing is, I'm left-handed. I've never played the guitar before, but I'd like to learn. While my left is my dominant hand, my right isn't completely useless - I can do many things with it (eg I use the mouse with my right hand only). But now how should I learn to play the guitar - lefty or righty (standard)? Also, in case I do decide on lefty, are there any online tutorials to help me learn?

i want to learn how to play an instrument that isnt completely common. i already know how to play guitar at an intermediate level and just wanted to know what would be a good brand and kind (acoustic or electric) of mandolin to get. i would perfer one that has some kind of interesting shape rather than just a plain circle (kinda curvy like a guitar).

PS. is a mandolin what is always plaing in the background of italian music? (like in the godfather)

What kind of guitar do you play?
What kind of style are you into?
And finally, who are some of your favorite guitarists/who are guitarists that have inspired you?

Gsus2/F Gsus2/E
So open up your morn-ing light and

I understand how to play either a Gsus2 or an F but which one should I play? Then with the Gsus2/E what should I play? Why does it show two different chords for the same verse?

Why is there a slash between the two, does that mean I can choose which one to play or what? Thanks!

I'm looking at piece of sheet music designed for Piano/Voice and guitar, more specifically this piece-

http://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.asp?ppn=MN0040094

Anyways, it has the piano and voice written out but it only has chord charts for the guitar, how do I know what rhythm to play, do I only play the chord once for eacho chord chart or do I follow the piano rhythm exactly? I do know how to read music and rhythm notation but have never learned using this type or sheet music. Thanks for your help.

I've been going to this dance studio for a while, and it's kind of different from other studios. It was cheaper, more fun, and a TON more relaxed. The people who ran it went through some tough times, and we've almost become like family because we've helped them cope. Just yesterday, at the recital, they started crying on stage and announced that they had to close the studio! It was because the landlord was raising the rent, and they didn't want to make the dancer's pay high prices, so they're closing! A happy day turned into the worst day ever! A bunch of the other dancers and I are willing to help keep the studio opened somehow. What should we do?

I'm playing the drums for about 3 years, but I've never had a drum teacher. People around me are telling me that I play great. Is drum education really necessary to become a good drummer, play in a band, perhaps become famous???

am 20 years old. I am a soph in a pretigious, ivy league college. I am majoring in bussiness and am at the top of my class. I am supposed to go to law school after everything, because in my family I am aloud to be a doctor or a lawyer.

I have been an aspiring musician my entire life and could sing better before i could talk. I had the luxury of being in some shows here and there and took vocal lessons till i was a senior in high school and at the time i was auditioning for college conservatories. I sadly was informed that i was suffering for a 50% hearing loss and no conservatory would le tme in as a performance major.

All i have ever wanted to do is perform. All i ever envisioned myself was on stage.
Reality is hitting me because i have to start looking for a future occupation. I am broken. I havent trained in 2 years and i my voice has lost its strength and whenever i try to get into dance classes they are filled with girls who have been dancing for yrs. and they put me down

My band kinda sucks a little bit... We really can't put on a good show to make our classmates amazed (we are a high school band, composed of 14 y/o guys)... Plus we don't have ample equipment (I only have an electric guitar and bass, the rest dont have instruments)...What's more is that there are a lot of people better than us out there... I take bass lessons but it doesn't seem to help me play that good... And our vocalist, probably the most experienced member, has left... I wan't to show those cocky people (well one of 'em has bragging rights as he can play the guitar on his back...) what we are made of!!! But recently, all we can do is cover songs made by famous artists...

Hi,
I'm preparing myself take my headshots the second time around. The headshots from my 1st time were a disaster because I didn't do my homework and I hired the wrong photographer. I'm giving myself @ least 6months to take them again and in that time I'm working on creating my character, the RIGHT character that I want my headshots to portray. So, finally my question is as follow. Can anyone direct me to a book or website that I can read to help me during this process?
Thanks
