I love to sing, but I'm too shy to sing in front of anybody but my bestfriends, they say Im good and I think I am good, but when I record it on my cellphone, I sound like a kid. Am I good or not?

FIRST of all, ditch the cell phone! Computer microphones are no good either. They’re made primarily for talking and simply don’t have the range to really do justice to even an average singer’s range.

Find a friend (or ask at your school or church) who has a DECENT quality recording device. It doesn’t have to have layered tracks, sound on sound, or even reverb (although that helps a BUNCH). Record something on this quality instrument then listen to it yourself.

You already know that it won’t sound on tape the same as it sounds in your head. Try detaching yourself, and listening as if it were a stranger. Is this someone you could listen to more than once?

Then play the recording for one or two trusted friends, people who will give you an HONEST answer. This may be hard for them, because we never want to risk offending a friend, even if they stink. Make sure they understand that they won’t be doing you any favors by trying to spare your feelings.

Good luck! I understand the shyness. It’s a very personal and vulnerable feeling, opening up a part of you to potential ridicule. But the pleasure you can give to others, as well as the “rush” from doing it well (and receiving the applause) is one of the greatest pleasures in life.

Too shy. OK. first sing in front of ONE good friend you feel comfortable with. If you feel good afterwards. Pick another good friend, and sing in front of both. Then try two friends and ask them to bring one friend you don't know but who might appreciate your singing. Think that you are singing not to prove you are a good singer, but because you have something to communicate to them. Keep the attention outside yourself.

Try out for some musical part, you'll find out soon enough if you are good. If you never sing in front of anyone but people who know you it doesn't matter if you are good or not.

Sing of sturdy issues no longer undesirable, sing of happy no longer unhappy. Sing, Sing a music, sing it elementary to final the entire night long. do no longer issue if its no longer sturdy sufficient for all people else to hearken to, merely sing, sing a music.

A video might be better recording quality, and it probably won't lie. Don't trust your friends becuase they don't want to hurt your feelings. Recordings tell it like it is.

place 2 fingers behind each of your ears and push them foreward to where they stick out and you will hear what you really sound like, you will look funny though, if your shy then only do this when nobodys around lol
