Buy a winder, then you won't dread changing strings.

Get a wire clipper. Clip your old strings off. Put the string on the body and bring it up to the tuning head that it wraps around on the neck of the guitar. Cut the string with the clippers about 2 inches past the tuning head. Insert the string a bit and begin winding to a low tension.

Do you have another guitar? If you do, its handy to match the other guitar's tone for each string. Then use your electronic tuner to hone in.

Bend the strings a bit to set them in. Retune.

Change at least every few months for best sounding guitar tone.

Clean your strings one at a time after each use with a small wipey towel and alcohol.

Enjoy!
