HI, I know how to play a guitar, I have already played an acoustic. I am looking for a good quality guitar, from a good reliable company. I am saving up money but parents won't pay more than $500 for guitar and amp ( plus all the other stuff)
What guitar would be good for me?
to give you an idea of what guitar would be good, I'll just tell you the music I like to listen to:"
Slipknot,
Dragonforce,
Pantera,
|Guns and roses
Basically, EVERYTHING U SEE IN GUITAR HERO 3
I was thinking an ibanez guitar,
But i need an amp as well...plus other stuff
What do yo guys think

I am in high school and have been playing clarinet since 5th grade, and my clarinet instructor has suggested purchasing a new mouthpiece. I currently have a "premier" by hite, and she has reccomended the Vandoren M13 lyre and similar, So im basically asking

1-should I upgrade?
2-how much can I expect to pay for a mouthpiece in that range
3-what other options are there besides the Vandorens

additional details
-current mouthpiece is premier by hite (student mouthpiece), though I also have a Gigliotti Maestro (#2) that came with my clarinet, that is supposed to be a professional mouthpiece, though it has not worked well for me
-I am playing a Selmer 10-g, with Vandoren V12 3.5s
-somewhat advanced skill wise, but improving rapidly with new teacher
-darker sound perfered for the stuff we do in band

If there isn't such a site, there ought to be. I think it should work on a point system, like yahoo answers. You would get points for listening to and evaluating someone else's music, and it would cost you points to get your own listened to.

I'm trying to record Scarborough Fair, by Simon and Garfunkle, and doing it solo, accompanied by my accoustic guitar. It keeps coming out blah. Heck, it doesn't even hold my own interest. I have this problem with some of my music. I'm open to the possibility that it just isn't my song. But does anyone know any cool techniques to get more intensity? I've tried singing it higher.

I have big hands and i'm having some trouble playing my current acoustic guitar because the space between frets are somewhat small. Its a steel string. What acoustic, steel string guitars, have the widest space between frets, under (or around) $300?

I have had my moms gemeinhardt (about twenty years old) and recently it's been giving me loads of problems and right now it's away getting fixed.(if it can be)
I have played the flute for about six years and I am pretty decent and just need a flute to get me through high school and possibly to pass on to MY daughter (...well thats if it lasts)
I was wondering what is a pretty decent intermediate or student flute not costing more than 500$ ( I just recently got a gemeinhardt 4psh piccolo) preferably gemeinhardt and new.
If this is not possible does anyone have sites of good used flutes?
The flute doesn't have to be gemeinhardt if you think theres a better one of a different company.
and just ask if you need more info.

I am learning how to play guitar and palm muting is so far the hardest thing I've encountered. Also if you can tell me some good songs to practice finger picking (already know Stairway to Heaven, and Dust in the wind)... but I'm looking more for palm mute stuff! Thanks

I've always wondered - why is there an additional, wider hole at the centre of the 4 screws used to secure an electric guitar's neck to the body?

I've seen it on many guitars - sometimes it' runs right through the body, hidden only by the neck plate. What's it for?
