April's already dead (suicide), Angel dies during the musical (AIDS), Mimi almost dies but survives (in reality she'll probably be dead in like a day or two but she lives at the end of the musical)

Susie doesn't know what she is talking about.
Spoiler.....Angel Dies of Aids. Mimi almost dies, but ends up "coming back to life." In the opera it is based on, "La Boheme," Mimi actually dies, but Jonathan Larson changed it for RENT. Mimi living and getting a second chance at life helps to better illustrate the theme..."No day but today."

hire relies on the opera l. a. Boheme wherein Mimi dies in the top. In hire, Angel dies yet Mimi lives. i've got long assumed this became to furnish the objective audience a chuffed ending, that's the norm for musicals with uncommon exceptions (ex. West area tale).

It depends on the version you're referring to. In the movie, April dies. In the Broadway version, basically everyone with AIDs dies.
