-I need a cheap guitar that would be good for a beginner. I'm a poor college student. What would be good?

I used to think I could never play an instrument because I failed to play the trumpet, but that was 6th grade, and I've always wanted to play guitar.

Just curious to hear some opinions. I know some people can't even keep a beat, forget play an instrument by ear. Do you think it is possible with enough practice?

It's exactly the same as the A minor chord, except the D string is open. So it looks like this:

E--0-----
B--1-----
G--2-----
D--0-----
A--0-----
E---------

Any ideas?

Thanks!

My friend and I are singing for a christmas show this december. The only problem is, we dont have a christmas song to sing. It has to be kind of formal that we can really show off our voices. We both love to sing, but we cant hit too many high notes. Its a highschool show, so it has to be sophisticated a bit. Please help us!!!

We need to start practicing now.
Thank you sooo much!

Hi! I've been playing the violin for about 2 and a half years and I'm pretty all right. The only thing I really lack confidence in is my sight reading. I have a really hard time sight reading music for some reason. I am able to play the piece when i practice but it's hard for me to play it right there when someone gives a piece to me. Are there any tricks or websites that help to improve your sight reading for violin? Any scales or something on sheet music I can practice for sight reading. I take the suzuki method book and they have the fingering (example: 1, 2, 3) below the note which is what I usually use to read my music (unfortunately). Please help! Thanks!

I know it sounds ridiculous, but I can't find anywhere that says exactly what cane is.
I know a bansuri is made of bamboo, but I don't know if this is the same thing as cane.
Is cane its own plant?
Thanks!

I have some background in music, although nothing with strings. I've played alto saxophone for six years, although I'm a little rusty nowadays.
But I've had an electric four string bass guitar for awhile, and have neglected learning to play. I would really like to now though.
I cannot afford any lessons, so I will be teaching myself. Is there anything good on the internet that can help me get started? Any tips that other players have?
