I've never heard Frank Sinatra sing three octaves. He barely singing in one and a half octaves, and most the time it's less than one. Plus, it doesn't really matter any way. Tons of people can sing three or more octaves, but most of it's pointless anyway. Range matters very little to quality. And where I disagree that Frank Sinatra had any great range to brag about, I'll agree that the quality of his voice was worth remembering.

Even I can sing in three octaves. And Frank Sinatra was not particularly known for having a powerful voice. I cant even think of a tune he did in a higher register for that matter. Can you?

Now, was he the entertainer of the century? He wasnt even alive in this century, so it would be hard to say. I like Dean Martin and Tony Bennet better though.

Roy Orbison had a four octave range and also wrote his own songs. You can't that away from him.
