Pick up a beginner's chord book, such as Hal Leonard's Guitar Method One. Within it shows basics on tuning, forming chords, learning simple music theory, and playing simple songs in notation.

Better yet, hire a guitar instructor at your local music store.

Obviously, playing the guitar is more difficult than you thought it was. Ben is correct that if you put you pointer over the chord names, you'll see a graphic depiction of the chords. However, from my experience as a guitar teacher, it will take you several months (or several years) to learn all these chords. The barre chords are the most difficult and will take longer.

The best approach to learning the guitar is to find a reputable guitar teacher and take at least one year of lessons. to become really good at playing, you'll need at least 5 to 7 years (that's if your young and have lots of time on your hands, like a high school student). If you're an adult, it WILL take longer.

The "do it yourself" books can also work, but once again that takes longer than having a teacher to guide you. Good luck.

If you put the cursor over the chord letter, it'll give a little text diagram. There will be six horizontal lines representing strings (bottom line is equivalent to bottom E, or the string furthest from the ground when you play the guitar. The vertical lines mean frets, and that's all pretty self explanatory.
You will have trouble with F to begin with, as it requires putting one of your fingers side ways to "barre" a chord, using one finger to push down several strings.
