You'll find that you're $250-500 low to be buying a new bass clarinet.

The Selmer 1430P sells for about $1200-1400
The Vito L7166 or 7168 sells for about $1300-1400

These are the two lowest priced bass clarinets new that will provide a reasonable service to you. Even the Jupiter is over $1200

You might reconsider new and look for a good wood bass on eBay that is complete but needs a service. I've seen a Leblanc Paris sell for around $1500 There's a Selmer Paris for well under $900 right now that looks like it'd need about a $200 service call to be really sweet.

That price is alittle too low , especially for a bass clarinet . The prices your going to find for a bass is over $1000 . If you want a quality one .

Oh my. I've got a similar problem.... These instruments are *so* expensive, it's really not fair to people who can't shell out thousands of dollars to buy one. I'd suggest eBay, they've got a lot, I've seen a few nice bass clarinets on there. The bass clarinet is a great instrument, I wish you the best of luck in finding one! =)

I don't think you'll be able to find one for such a low price, and even if you manage it, the clarinet would probably be of very bad quality.
