Don't try to show off and sing some "off the
wall" song that no one knows. Sing something
that is familiar to everyone and something that
YOU are comfortable with especially since you
are new to everyone.

We Built This City by Jefferson Starship would be good, yeah.
Free Fallin' by Tom Petty is a good song thats easy to sing, and a lot of people know it.
You could sing something by Queen, as they are amazing, Under Pressure could be good if you can hit the high notes, but by the way, you might not want to sing 'We Are The Champions' because thats considered a gay anthem, and in middle/high school, people will pick up on that and thats not good for a new kid, regardless of how openminded the school is...
