I also recommend checking with your local colleges. My high-school age niece recently attended a weekend-long writers retreat at UCLA, which was awesome for her.

It might also be a good idea to check in with your local newspaper. They may be aware of local organizations that would be interested in helping young writers blossom.

Check google, I'm sure that there's plenty of workshop sites on there. Why not check out the library on publishing and how to books, maybe she could have something published now. Some times young writers are published if their good enough. Most great writers know when their very young, it's like something in their soul that tells them that they have to write. Stephen King did this when he was young, and so did the great writer Taylor Caldwell, she was writing at twelve !!!!!!!

They have little write-prompt cards that you can purchase, those would help. You could also check the NY Times Editorial sections and have her use some of those topics to write an Op-Ed piece. Or you could check out this pretty neat site:

Anyways, hope she does well!

Check the library and community centres. They may have programs for writing themselves, or they may have postings for other programs on their billboards in the building.
